Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has promised fans they will not have to wait another six years for the band's next album as the rockers are heading into the studio later this year (14).

The group returned to the album charts in 2013 with ...Like Clockwork and scored their first ever U.S. number one with the record, which was released six years after their previous offering, 2007's Era Vulgaris.

Fans had feared the group would leave another lengthy gap before releasing another record, but singer Homme has revealed they have planned to start recording in the autumn (14).

He tells Rolling Stone, "We have more than enough songs. We're booked til September, but after that we plan to jump in the studio and get going."
