Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme nearly walked offstage in the middle of a gig during the band's recently curtailed European tour - because he couldn't breathe.

The GO WITH THE FLOW rocker was forced to pull a number of concerts after he began coughing up blood in a Paris, France, hotel room in February (05). He was flown back to Los Angeles where he was diagnosed with a lung infection.

But when Homme was onstage with QOTSA hours earlier he was so concerned with his well-being he considered abandoning the show.

The now-recovered frontman says, "I've played with broken fingers, dislocated ankles, but it's different when you can't breathe.

"I almost walked off the stage, that night I started coughing up blood. I was like, 'What the f**k?'"
