Pussy Riot stars Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alekhina will head to a reception in London on Friday (14Nov14) to thank protesters who helped their release from prison.

The punk musicians were sentenced to two years in prison in 2012 following a protest at a church in Moscow, Russia. They were released in December (13) following pressure from Western human rights organisations, including Amnesty International.

Tolokonnikova and Alekhina will thank campaigners at the group's headquarters in London and talk about their experiences in prison and their ongoing campaigns against Russia's human rights policies.

The bash will feature live music and Dj sets to celebrate their freedom with celebrity guests reportedly including actress Jaime Winstone, rocker Jamie Hince and Charlotte Church.

The duo will hold a talk at Cambridge University's Student Union on Saturday (15Nov14) and finish their week-long visit to the U.K. with a visit to the Houses of Parliament in London on Tuesday (18Nov14).

During their visit to the House of Commons, they will give a speech about Russian President Vladimir Putin, his crackdown on public protests and their time in prison.
