This new offering from Capcom must take the title of the craziest, quirkiest (is there such a word?) of the year, its barmy.
The story goes like this...........
You take control of a three year old little blue alien named Cosmi. Capcom are selling it as a cute blue Alien, I personally saw nothing cute with it, more ugly than cute I thought but what do I know. Anyway the little blue Alien Cosmi travels to different planets where it has to cause as much havoc and mischief as possible collecting coins to move onto the next level.
Cosmi decides to travel to Earth, where you embark on the task of creating mischief on the unsuspecting Earthlings. You play pranks on the humans by using your ray gun which when pointed towards certain humans it will show what mischievous power ups they possess, so if you then zap them you will then take them and use them yourself. To use them you have to find hovering spaceship transformers which when you stand under its rays you will be changed into the character you just zapped which will now be your disguise from the locals and police.
Now in your new Earthling form you can now play pranks by using the power ups you stole which makes humans drop coins which you need to collect to progress further into the adventure. Beware! some humans don't like having pranks played on them like leaving drawing pins scattered in the street and they will show their anger by basically giving you a dry slap, which can cause your disguise to slip, and be at the mercy of local constabulary.
The game is fast, furious, chaotic, manic and crazy but truly addictive. The environments and characters are great to look at and are colourful cartoon styled.
A game for the younger gamers out there but I still enjoyed it and I'm an old geezer. Whether its worth shelling out £35.00 plus I doubt it but if it retails for less its worth a punt, but that's a very big if mind.
One last thing the name 'Under the Skin' is rubbish!
