Here we go again; year in year out a new update of the formula one racing genre appears on the shelves. Don't get me wrong I love the formula one games and whenever the formula one championship starts each year with the likes of Schumacher and Button, I am compelled to bring out my latest F1 game and start racing. This new offering from Sony has the usual improvements, tweaks and all that plus the main difference this time round is being able to play on-line.

The game now comprises of numerous single player options such as Arcade , Classic, Season, Simulation, Custom, Race Weekend, World Championship, Time Attack, and Test Drive as well as an in depth Career mode. There are all usual updated stats from the real-life sport of all the teams and drivers.

As I said earlier I love the formula one series and I probably think this version is a little harder but more realistic than the EA Sports version of the genre. The only problem is how much

better can they make the game in the future, each track is visually perfect the cars are graphically correct the way the cars move and controlled are great, not too hard so the enjoyment factor is lost and not too easy so it becomes a procession but rather a challenge.

With the inclusion of the many single player and multi player modes it is well worth purchasing for the driving game player as well as the hardcore formula one fan, and with the inclusion of network play you can take F1 cars on-line and enter the global challenge which adds to the experience of high speed racing and takes it to another level.
