Pop superstar Prince will be missing from the line-up of the 2014 Glastonbury Festival after organisers failed to secure his place on the bill.
The Purple Rain hitmaker has never headlined the iconic British music event, but sparked rumours he would make his debut there this summer (14) after recently jetting to the U.K. for a series of guerilla-style gigs.
Reports emerged last month (Feb14) suggesting Prince had agreed a deal to perform on the festival's iconic Pyramid Stage on the closing night of the event, but festival organiser Emily Eavis has now confirmed fans will not be seeing Prince at Glastonbury this year (14).
She tells BBC Radio 6 Music, "He's someone that will be amazing one day, he's somebody that we haven't had, and we would love to have him at Glastonbury. But no, no we haven't (booked Prince)."
The festival takes place in June (14).
