Prince William and Kate Middleton have enjoyed an exultant, if not hard-working, first year together as husband and wife and with their first anniversary coming up it looks as though they want to take things a little slower at last.

The Royal pair will spend the special day in private, a spokesperson from St James' Palace confirmed earlier this week that the young couple intend to travel to an undisclosed location in the UK to attend an event that falls on the day they married (April 29th) one year ago.

After the wedding, which was apparently watched by 2 billion people globally, the pair jetted off on their secret honeymoon in the Seychelles, only to resume regal duties immediately after as they attended their first overseas tour to Canada and California. Since then William has been largely tied up with his duties as a Search and Rescue Pilot for the Raf in the Falklands, whilst the Duchess of Cambridge has duly fulfilled numerous regal roles, from establishing her first solo patronage at EACH's new 'Treehouse' hospice in Ipswich to conducting her first engagements alongside the Queen. We at Contactmusic would like to wish the couple all the best, with the hope of celebrating many more anniversaries to come.
