British royal Prince Harry is at the centre of a security scare after an undercover journalist armed with a fake bomb tricked his way into Sandhurst Military Academy - where the prince is training.
The reporter, from British newspaper The Sun, wandered through the grounds for eight hours after being given an academic pass - issued to members of the public who want to use the library at the site.
The bogus intruder even managed to video the 20-year-old prince while he trained, and was at one point close to his bedroom.
Security stopped him twice, but let him go after he explained he was just there to use the library.
Defence Secretary John Reid fumes, "I have demanded an immediate investigation into this serious security breach, I have instructed Sandhurst to change their procedures to prevent an recurrence."
A MINISTRY OF DEFENCE source adds, "It is almost impossible to explain how embarrassing this is. Heads will roll."
And this is the second time this year (05) the British royals have been victims of a security blunder: journalists drove a van containing a fake explosive past security just days before the wedding of Prince Charles and CAMILLA, DUCHESS OF CORNWALL (09APR05).16/06/2005 14:08
