British royal Prince Harry is gearing up to resume his military service in war-torn Afghanistan, according to a U.K. report.
Harry previously spent 10 weeks in the Middle Eastern country serving as a forward air controller between 2007 and 2008, but was forced to cut short his tour of duty after Taliban forces learned of his location and marked him as a target, jeopardising the safety of other soldiers.
But the British royal is eager to get back to the front line - and defense officials and his grandmother Queen Elizabeth have already approved the move, according to The Sun.
Speaking to The Guardian on Thursday (16Jun11) a spokesman for the Clarence House said, "Harry is an army pilot and will deploy wherever the army chooses to send him."
Harry will likely join the military ranks in Afghanistan by the year's end (11).
