British royal Prince Harry has passed up the chance to further his education at university - by joining the army instead.

Although Harry, son of future king Prince Charles and brother of regal hunk WILLIAM, passed two A-levels - the advanced final exams British teenagers take before leaving school - his grades fall short of the requirements of top universities.

But after learning of his son's results today (14AUG03) - a D grade in geography and a B in art - Charles congratulated Harry's hard work.

He says in a statement, "I am very proud of Harry. He has worked hard for these examinations and I am very pleased with today's results."

Harry, 18, will take a year off before applying to the prestigious SANDHURST military academy in Berkshire, England.
