Primavera Sound moves into British territories with one of their most respected collaborators, All Tomorrow's Parties. After seven years of curating the ATP stage at the Barcelona festival, ATP is handing over the job to Primavera Sound and from 22nd to 24th November they will curate the last of the weekenders that will take place in the now famous Camber Sands.
Among the participating artists are Television performing Marquee Moon, Dinosaur Jr., Les Savy Fav, Chelsea Light Moving (feat. Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore), múm, Dinos Chapman, Wolf Eyes, Mike Watt, Hebronix, Forest Swords, BEAK>, The Haxan Cloak, Demdike Stare, Eraas... and many more names still to be confirmed.
Although their formats are basically different, Primavera Sound and ATP are kindred spirits in their choice of music. As well as expressing mutual admiration for each other, they draw their inspiration from the same musical scene thereby asserting the element of brotherhood.
The British cult event is characterised by the fact that its line up is picked by curators who chose their favourite artists and to date these have included Modest Mouse, Mogwai and The Shins and even personalities such as Vincent Gallo and Matt Groening himself.
ATP has reinvented the holiday resort turning it into the perfect site for the original boutique festival. The stages are just steps away from the convenient apartments that are exclusively reserved for the accommodation of the public and the site is fully equipped with a free cinema programme, swimming pool, free go-karts, arcades, a wide range of food outlets and endless nights to the rhythm of the best dance music.
The first tickets are now on sale at the reduced price of £170 per person (including accommodation).
As well as this weekender, there will also be one last event curated by the London band LOOP, who will reunite for the first time since 1991 and will be accompanied by The Pop Group, 23 Skidoo, Fennesz, Edan (DJ set), Dirty Beaches, Eaux, Hookworms, The KVB and Thought Forms, and many more to be confirmed soon.
