Washington Irving are offering a Free Download of "Palomides", the title track from their forthcoming 2-part debut album 'Palomides: Volume I & II' (out on 4th November on Instinctive Racoon).
Washington Irving have a passion for the twisted tales of love, death and madness found in the traditional folk popular in their hometown of Oban, Scotland, but they've revolutionised it by creating new 'folk' songs with brash, distorted and loud soundtracks. They mix soft acoustic guitar suddenly and unexpectedly with crescendoes of fuzzy, driven wall of noise. They use traditional instruments such as the mandolin, played through distortion pedals and plugged into an amp for maximum noise.
The band have previously toured with Frightened Rabbit and sold out a headline show at Oran Mor, Glasgow. They play the following English dates in November:
14th November: Old Blue Last, London (Free Show)
16th November: Westgarth Social Club, Middlesbrough
17th November: Greystones, Sheffield
The film will be the first in the Marvel Cinematic Universe led by a person of colour.
The actor plays the titular hero in the forthcoming adaptation.
Rock legend Eric Clapton has admitted the era of the guitar may be ''over''.
Following his success with 'The Force Awakens', the director will close out the trilogy.
