TIEKS is the new name to get acquainted with in the flourishing landscape of UK dance music.
Bubbling up steadily with high profile remixes for Jess Glynne, Rudimental and MNEK among others and being featured by Annie Mac as part of her her Free Music Mondays with his track 'The Number', TIEKS, aka London producer-come-songwriter Mark Tieku, now readies to make his name firmly known in its own right with new single 'Sing That Song'.
Featuring up and coming London r&b and soul talent Celeste, 'Sing That Song' brings forth smooth tropical house with knowledgeable nods to italo and breezy yacht disco, the lyrics a paean to late night/early morning music intoxication, articulated by an impossibly catchy chant refrain.
Not strictly a newcomer, TIEKS cut his teeth co-writing behind the scenes with Florence And The Machine among others, going on to then catch the production bug himself.
Elsewhere, TIEKS took part in the new 'Monki And Friends' EP, a free-to-download five-track release curated by DJ Monki of BBC Radio 1 recorded collaboratively in Red Bull Studios. The EP features the cream of the crop of the UK's established and on the rise electronic and dance landscape, featuring Joe Goddard, Kidnap Kid, Thefft, Sinden, Moko and Murlo among others.
