The Flight are east London production duo Joe Henson and Alexis Smith. They have written and produced for some big names in the music industry including Lana Del Ray. 'The Hangman EP' is their first outing as artists in their own right.
The EP consists of 4 diverse tracks which showcase The Flight's talent and potential. 'Hangman' is a modern re-telling of the folk song Pretty Polly. This song is a murder ballad, telling of a young woman tempted away from home into a the forest where she is killed and buried in a shallow grave. The rest of the EP is written from the viewpoint of the murderer, from first meeting the young woman to rueful ghost after his execution.
They plan to release a series of EP's featuring guest artists, ahead of their debut album sometime in the near future...
The title track, 'Hangman' has seen lots of support online and even made it to number 6 in the Hype Machine Twitter charts when it was uploaded earlier last month.
Many ticket-holders couldn't get into the O2 Arena show on Tuesday night (September 19th) because they didn't bring photo ID to match their booking.
