Hackney based duo Andy McDonnell and Michael Tyrrell - aka SUNS - return with 'We Were Kings', a divine dose of emotional pop that follows on beautifully from last year's debut EP WeAreSuns.
'We Were Kings' is a song laden with nostalgia and the burden that comes when reflecting on a past relationship. Recapturing the unique, hedonistic moments where it seemed the sun would never set. A celebration of the dizzying heights, grappling to make those moments last and finally coming to terms with the cruel transience of it all. All of this emotion is brought to life with vigour by Michael Tyrrell's achingly soulful vocal that transcends over the glistening production.
Both talented musicians and producers in their own right, McDonnell and Tyrrell have previously worked with likes of Mount Kimbie, Crystal Fighters, Cocknbullkid and Scott Walker to name a few.
Now working with London promoter Parallel Lines, UK live dates are set to be announced shortly. Be prepared to see much more of SUNS in 2014.
'We Were Kings' is due to be released through SUNS' own label Taiyo Records on 11th August, 2014 and is available now as a free download for a limited time.
