From Aberdeen, twins SHY & D.R.S have been writing rhymes and producing their own hip-hop music since the late 90's. They've won airplay around the world with an acclaimed remix for Akon and Universal Records and attracted offers from international record labels.
Their debut single 'The Love Is Gone' was released by Guardian Angels Records (headed by multi-platinum artist Sandi Thom) and reached #32 in the Official Scottish charts. Their follow-up, 'Relapse' feat. Luke Bingham, also made the charts reaching #40. 'Born Again' is their first release with the US based label, Press Play Recordings / The Orchard.
SHY & D.R.S themselves star naked in the gruesome, controversial music video to accompany the track (their first time naked together since birth!). It involves the brothers crawling out of a womb covered in blood, trying to escape from hospital staff in search for the 'New beginning' / 'New life'.
The track also features Christina Novelli (daughter of celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli) who recently racked up over 19 million YouTube views for her track with Gareth Emery 'Concrete Angel'' and had a string of international dance hits, receiving much BBCR1 radio play.
Some Other Facts About Shy & D.R.S: Their recent collaboration 'Closer' with international internet star Keenan Cahill was premiered on Ryan Seacrest's radio station and has since been tweeted by the likes of Seth Green (Family Guy, Austin Powers), Austin Mahone, Jordan Jansen, Jake Miller and Phoebe Dykstra helping it receive over 155,000 views on YouTube.
SHY & D.R.S collaborated on two songs with Eminem's band D12, rock legends Nazareth, international singer songwriter Daniel De Bourg and X-Factor star Luke Bingham for their debut album 'Before Too Long' (April 2013) which entered the iTunes HipHop chart at #12 and remained in the top 20 Hip Hop album chart for six consecutive weeks.
In 2009 they were signed to Midge Ure's management and legal company CCW Longplay (Edinburgh) looked after by ex-Stereophonics and Culture Club manager Ronnie Gurr.
SHY & D.R.S recently auditioned for X-Factor and got through the first three initial stages of the competition in which they performed an entertaining and unique freestyle piece written about the X-Factor itself, the judges and why they should be put through to the TV format of the show. They impressed the panel and made the judges laugh out loud throughout - the next step of this particular part of the SHY & D.R.S journey is yet to be revealed!
