Canada's RAH RAH release their third -but first UK released - album The Poet's Dead on 9th June. The album was recently nominated for 'Alternative Album of the Year' at the prestigious Juno Awards, narrowly missing out to Arcade Fire.
The Poet's Dead was recorded in late 2011 under the production guidance of Gus Van Go and Werner F (The Stills, Hollerado, Priestess). The recording - as with the band's live style - involved all six members effortlessly trading the multi-instruments and taking turns on lead vocals, creating the melodic male/female vocals. With the songwriting also being shared equally between each member, each track on The Poet's Dead offers up their own individual flourishes.
RAH RAH have shared tours with Minus The Bear in Canada and USA, Wintersleep in Europe and Canada, and label-mates Said The Whale - to name only a few. They now embark on a full European tour including the following UK dates:
1st-3rd May: Liverpool Sound City, Liverpool
6th May: Upstairs at The Garage, London
8th-10th May: The Great Escape, Brighton
12th May: Redhouse, Sheffield
13th May: The Monarch, London
Corgan took to Instagram to confirm rumours of new Pumpkins material, saying the first songs could arrive as early as May.
