The adventures of this quintet from Bordeaux begin three years ago as one of the first bands of a new blossoming French pop scene that has perfectly integrated Anglo-Saxons music codes while singing in French. From the American beaches (Real Estate, The Drums, Chromatics...) to the cold waves of the United Kingdom (Kindness, Metronomy, Pulp...), Pendentif is a fresh take on the Atlantic French coast and its suburbs.
Cindy Callede (lead vocals, tambourine), Benoit Lambin (lead vocals, guitar), Mathieu Vincent (bass, background vocals), Ariel Tintar (keyboards, guitar, background vocals) and Jonathan Lamarque (drums, background vocals) sing in unison about urban romantic fables, coastal landscapes, and lost paradise - in French with an English flair.
Lover of bright melodies and sensitive lyrics, their pantheon also includes Michel Polnaref, Serge Gainsbourg (Lemon Incest period) and lyricist Jacques Duval (Lio, Alain Chamfort).
With already fifty dates behind them, Pendentif have shared the stage with Francois and the Atlas Mountain, Melody's Echo Chamber, Baxter Dury, The Bewitched Hands, Breton and opened for prestigious French acts such as Indochine and Catherine Ringer (Rita Mitsouko).
