Heart-Ships today release their long awaited debut EP on Manchester's newest independent label, simply entitled 'Label', and is available digitally and on 12" limited edition vinyl on 29th April 2013.
Recorded with Tim Hampton in his Sheffield studio, this five track EP marks a seminal moment in the band's promising development. Composed of tracks that have been honed and sharpened with the clarity of live performances worthy of plaudits from fans and critics alike, 'EP 1' is a dramatic realisation of industrious beginnings.
Evolving from their roots in Leeds, Heart-Ships have crafted 'EP 1' with an overwhelming sense of a call to arms. Ryan Cooke's rousing, yet endearingly fragile, vocals light up rallies of unrelenting instrumentation, bringing to life lyrics that are woven as staggeringly powerful and intimate narratives. As Cooke puts it, 'lyrics imbue pursuing a sense of wonder, a will to explore the tension between transcendental or meditative type experiences and being confined to a body'
Heart-Ships are available for all sessions and interviews, with reviews of the EP very welcome.
