Alternative pop three-piece Grand Cousin announces the release of their debut EP, out July 15th, 2014. The threesome has opened for a number of notable acts, including Wild Flag and Twin Shadow and has been covered by numerous notable media outlets, including a feature on Huffington Post last fall for their video "Camera." Lead singer Henry Hall furnishes the band's catchy and succinct melodies with soaring, ethereal vocals that are often compared to Radiohead's Thom Yorke. Their sound is a genre-defying fusion of psychedelia, indie pop and alternative rock reminiscent of Deerhunter and Young the Giant.
Henry Hall (guitar/vocals), Robby Caplan (bass) and Evan Low (drums) met while attending Wesleyan University, where they formed the band just a week into their freshman year in September 2010. As long-time friends and band mates, the trio thrives on chemistry both on stage and off. Grand Cousin is known for their musically tight live show and their humorous on-stage banter.
"The result of their friendship is some great indie rock you can dance to." Arena writes. Waves Magazine calls Grand Cousin, "Rump-shakin, jump-n- jivin, good ol' fashion groove." Stay tuned for more from Grand Cousin!
