Following on from releases this year on Tom Budden's ALiVE Recordings and Asadinho's RvS Music, London producer Ben Gomori serves up a slice of house infused with a classic soul/funk lick as part of the Melted One various artists compilation. The collection also features tracks from the likes of VIVa Music and Hot Creations talent Darius Syrossian and a slew of upcoming names, and was curated by Mancunian DJ and Clique resident Kill Suarez.
Peace Sign is a chunky slice of house driven by percussive loops and driving bass, all topped off with a mellifluous, yearning guitar sample that lends a sombre mood to the track. Sustained strings and moody, distorted organ chords in the breakdowns add to the tension, and create a track that grooves hard with a dramatic undercurrent.
2014 is looking like Ben's busiest year yet, with long-awaited EPs forthcoming on Stranjjur, BMKLTSCH and UNER's forthcoming new label, plus remixes for Nurvous, HearThuG & Stee Downes and some big mainstream acts on the way. That's not to mention his weekly Turned On Podcast, his monthly Monologues. mix series where he invites DJ/producers to create a mix of their own material, his monthly Heads Down night at London's Kings Head Members Club, and another podcast project involving Jackmaster in the works too.
