Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest was the big winner at last night's People's Choice Awards, with the blockbuster being named favourite movie and best film drama of the last year.
Star Johnny Depp, who plays Captain Jack Sparrow in The Pirates franchise, walked away with the accolades for best male movie star and favourite male action star.
But in a snub for co-star Orlando Bloom, Depp and English rose Keira Knightly were named as the best on-screen match-up.
The People's Choice Awards, which come a month before the all-important Academy Awards, are a good indicator of popular opinion as they are based entirely on internet votes from members of the public.
"The fact that this award comes from the people, makes it all the more special," said Depp as he made one of his trips to the podium last night in Los Angeles.
"And thanks for keeping me employed, yeah? You're the boss," the 43-year-old added.
Recently separated couple Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughan, who started in The Break-Up were named as top female movie star and best leading man respectively.
In a dig at pop singer Britney Spears, who was pictured by paparazzi in the new year with no pants, Aniston told front-row fans as she accepted her award: "Man, I tell you, it's a lucky thing we do wear underwear, huh?"
Also picking up gongs last night was Adam Sandler's Click, which was named best film comedy, and Pixar's Cars, which received the favourite family film award.
In the TV sphere, Desperate Housewives beauty Eva Longoria walked away with the favourite female TV star award, while Ellen Degeneres was named favourite talk show host and favourite funny female star.
And in music Justin Timberlake's Sexyback was handed the best R&B song award, with Hips Don't Lie by Shakira named as the year's top pop song.
