Pippa Middleton and her hedge fund manager fiance James Matthews will marry next year (17).
It was reported on Tuesday (19Jul16) that Pippa, the sister of British royal Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, was engaged to wed after her 40-year-old beau proposed during a romantic weekend getaway in the U.K.'s Lake District on Sunday (17Jul16).
And the newly-engaged couple confirmed the happy news to the Associated Press, revealing they will tie the knot in 2017.
It remains to be seen what role Catherine will have in her sibling's nuptials, but Pippa was maid of honour when Catherine married Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, in 2011. She wore a stunning Alexander MCQueen dress for the occasion which almost stole the show from her Royal sister.
A Kensington Palace spokesperson told BBC News that Catherine and William are "absolutely delighted" by Pippa's engagement news. Meanwhile, Catherine and Pippa's father Michael Middleton added that he and his wife Carole are "absolutely thrilled" by the impending wedding.
"They make a wonderful couple and we wish them every happiness together," he said.
James, the brother of British reality star Spencer Matthews, has been dating Pippa for less than a year, but the couple enjoyed a brief romance back in 2012, according to Britain's Daily Mail.
