Legendary rockers Pink Floyd have confirmed their classic line-up will reunite for a performance at the London leg of charity event LIVE 8 next month (JUL05).

Roger Waters, Dave Gilmour, Rick Wright and Nick Mason, the personnel who recorded the all-time great album DARK SIDE OF THE MOON in 1973, will hit the stage at the 2 July (05) fundraiser in Hyde Park for the first time since they last performed live together in 1981.

Guitarist Gilmour says, "Like most people I want to do everything I can to persuade the G8 leaders to make huge commitments to the relief of poverty and increased aid to the third world.

"Any squabbles Roger and the band have had in the past are so petty in this context, and if reforming for this concert will help focus attention then it's got to be worthwhile."

Live 8 concerts will be staged in London, Berlin, Rome, Paris and Philadelphia on 2 July, and a sixth show will take place in Scotland on 6 July to coincide with the G8 summit.
