File Photo * MARIA DE VILLOTA FOUND DEAD IN HOTEL ROOM Racing driver MARIA DE VILLOTA has died just 15 months after losing her eye in a horror crash. The Spanish sports star was found dead in a hotel room in Seville, Spain while on a promotional tour for her autobiography. No cause of death had been confirmed as WENN went to press. The 33-year-old former Formula 1 ace lost her right eye in a horrific accident in Cambridgeshire, England last year (12) when she ploughed into a truck while test driving an MR-01 race car. A statement on De Villota's Facebook.com page, signed by her family, reads, "Dear friends: Maria has left us. She had to go to heaven like all angels. We are thankful to God for the extra year and a half that he left her with us."
