Jim Power works on his mosaic art work on St Marks Street

Jim Power - Jim Power, known by most as The Mosaic Man, has spent the last 26 years decorating the light posts of New York's East Village with intricate tile and mirror mosaics - and the homeless 64-year-old is still at it. The renowned artist works on his mosaic trail artwork on St. Mark's Street in New York accompanied by his dog Jesse Jane. The trail consists of sidewalks, planters, lamp posts and facades that Power has adorned with mosaic designs, all depicting pieces of lower Manhattan's epic history. From gangsters like Al Capone to famous bands including The Grateful Dead to old city fixtures like the Yiddish theaters, The Mosaic Man's creations stand as street-side homages to a neighbourhood with a colorful past. - New York City, NY, United States - Saturday 4th May 2013 (13 Pictures)
