Heather Mills, Sir Paul Mccartney and The Doors - Tuesday 21st September 2010

Heather Mills' plans to take her vegan restaurant global have been dealt a blow - she has shut up shop at her English cafe for the winter. Sir Paul McCartney's ex-wife opened vegan eaterie VBites last summer (09) in East Sussex, England and boasted the venture would prove so popular that it would be franchised around the world. But a notice on the door of the cafe has explained to hungry patrons that The Doors will be closed until at least spring next year (11) - despite it remaining open throughout last winter (09). The signs says, VBites is having its end of summer holiday from Saturday 11th September. We've been working hard and it's been our pleasure to serve you over the summer. We'd like to thank all our customers and friends and look forward to seeing you again soon when we re-open. Please keep an eye on our website for details. The hiatus comes after the restaurant's head chef reportedly told locals Mills had closed the eaterie for good. Mills bought the outlet with some of the $36.4 million (£24.3 million) divorce settlement she received from the Beatles legend in 2008. Sussex, England - 21.09.10 (7 images)
