The Immediate - Thursday 1st January 1970

UK aid agency Tearfund gave 50 Haitian school children disposable cameras and asked them to take pictures of their favourite things and reflect on how their lives have changed since the earthquake. A year since the disaster claimed nearly 300,000 lives, the children talk about what is important to them and why surviving the earthquake has changed everything. Tearfund has been working in Haiti for 30 years through local organisations in education, HIV and AIDS awareness and various livelihood programs. Since the earthquake, Tearfund has been directly responding to The Immediate emergency needs of communities, providing shelter, water and basic necessities to those who lost everything.
