Holly Willoughby Gets £200k Pay Rise To Close Gender Pay Gap

Holly Willoughby Phillip Schofield

Holly Willoughby has reportedly netted a £200,000 per annum pay increase from ITV, after recent claims asserted that she was earning nearly a third less for her work on ‘This Morning’ than her male co-host, Philip Schofield.

She and Philip have been working together on ‘This Morning’ for eight years now, but the latest reports suggested that she had been earning significantly less than Schofield for all this time - £400k to his £600k.

The pair are currently negotiating salaries with ITV to host the upcoming re-booted series of ‘Dancing On Ice’, but the network realised they would be unable to pay both of them equally if they continued to pay Willoughby less for her work on ‘This Morning’, according to sources.

'This Morning' Viewers Baffled By Holly Willoughby Cuddling Animatronic Panda

Holly Willoughby Phillip Schofield

A bizarre segment on ‘This Morning’ involving Holly Willoughby and a family of animatronic pandas left viewers rather freaked out and bemused.

On Thursday's episode (March 24th), Holly and her co-presenter Phillip Schofield explained that the robotic pandas were the first of their kind in the United Kingdom, and were part of an attraction opening over the Easter weekend at Chessington World of Adventures.

The 35 year old presenter held the baby of the panda family, which moved its head about and was so life-like that many onlookers were convinced it was real at first, having just tuned in and missed the explanation.

Holly Willoughby Phillip Schofield

‘This Morning’ presenter Holly Willoughby couldn’t but dissolve into giggles as her co-host Phillip Schofield showed her a newspaper story on her phone about her wardrobe malfunction at a Downing Street event the night before.

On Tuesday evening (March 1st), 35 year old Willoughby attended a reception for the charity Together 4 Short Lives, when the zip on the red dress she was wearing split from top to bottom down the back. Though she had a black undergarment on, it wasn’t quite enough to cover everything…

Holly shared the amusing photograph the next day with her followers on Instagram, strategically placing a red speech bubble to protect her modesty, and the incident found its way to the entertainment sections of news publications within a few hours.

Phillip Schofield Picks Kate Middleton As Hypothetical Dancing On Ice Partner

Phillip Schofield Kate Middleton Pamela Anderson Gareth Thomas

Given Kate Middleton's current situation - growing another human being in her womb - we doubt she'll be donning the sparkly leotards, pulling on the skates and pulling shapes on the ice. In fact, we can't think of any situation in which she'd do that.

Regardless of that fact, Phillip Schofield - the presenter of the popular Dancing on Ice show - has plucked Middleton's name out of the air as his ideal hypothetical partner. "If I was a contestant on the show, the Duchess of Cambridge would be my perfect partner because I suspect she's very light on her feet," he explained. Schofield also hosts another show, ITV's The Cube, which sees contestants complete difficult tasks for incremental amounts of money. "There is no question I would perform better on The Cube than Dancing On Ice," he said, according to The Sun. "You can't underestimate how difficult Dancing On Ice is for the contestants. It is a gruelling schedule then there is the ever-present possibility you'll smash your teeth in," he added, before confirmed that, "Of all the reality shows, this is the toughest."

Now, we'll say this again, Kate Middleton - The Duchess of Cambridge - WILL NOT be appearing on the show, but here are the real Dancing on Ice contestants:
