Phil Spector will receive $900,000 (GBP461,000) from a former assistant who is alleged to have embezzled thousands of dollars from the legendary music producer. The lawsuit was finally made official by Superior Court Judge MARK MOONEY yesterday (05FEB07), after Spector and MICHELLE BLAINE reached a deal last year (OCT06). Spector claimed Blaine took $425,000 (GBP217,000) from his pension fund and refused to repay him $635,000 (GBP325,000) she used to buy a home. Blaine counter sued claiming sexual harassment and wrongful termination. She believed she was fired because she refused to promise not to talk to prosecutors about what Spector may have told her regarding the death of Lana Clarkson. Spector, 67, is accused of murdering Lana Clarkson, the 40-year-old star of such B-movies as BARBARIAN QUEEN and AMAZON WOMEN ON THE MOON. Clarkson was found shot to death in the foyer of Spector's mock castle on 3 February 2003. The trial is scheduled for next month (MAR).
