Music producer Phil Spector's murder retrial has been delayed after a juror sustained an injury, postponing the first day of testimony.
Superior Court Judge Larry Fidler cancelled Thursday's (30Oct08) hearing after speaking with the juror - the first alternate - who fell and broke his foot in the court parking lot.
According to reports, Fidler is reluctant to lose an alternate juror so early in the trial, which began this week (begs27Oct08).
Spector is accused of murdering actress Lana Clarkson at his Alhambra, California mansion in February, 2003.
A jury reached a deadlock in favour of convicting Spector last year (07), prompting a Los Angeles judge to declare a mistrial.
Court proceedings are scheduled to resume on Monday (03Nov08).
