N*E*R*D star Pharrell Williams is eager to enlist opera singer CHARLOTTE CHURCH to help him host this year's (04) MUSIC OF BLACK ORIGIN (MOBO) awards in London.

The SHE WANTS TO MOVE hunk has compiled a short-list made up of Church, singer Jamelia and Mis-Teeq bandmember Alesha Dixon, to assist him wow the crowds at London's Royal Albert Hall on 30 September (04).

Williams had hoped to talk to Church yesterday (21AUG04) after performing at Britain's V FESTIVAL - but was disappointed to learn the Welsh soprano had pulled out at the last moment.

An insider says, "Charlotte was supposed to be at the Chelmsford site with some friends, but decided not to come at the last minute. Pharrell was going to meet her backstage in the VIRGIN RADIO VIP tent to talk about the MOBOs.

"Pharrell's been brought in to keep the woman happy at the MOBOs, but we need to look after the guys too. This year we've decided to let him choose who'll co-host with him."
