Late US newsreader Peter Jennings has left an estate of over $50 million (GBP27 million) to his family.

The 67-year-old journalist, who hosted ABC show WORLD NEWS TONIGHT, died in August (04) after a battle with lung cancer.

Jennings left the majority of his estate to his fourth wife, producer KAYCE FREED, who receives 50 per cent of the "net marital estate" and will also keep their Manhattan apartment.

His two children, ELIZABETH, 25, and CHRISTOPHER, 23 - whose mother is Jennings' third wife KATI MORTON - will also receive a share of the estate.
