The Twilight star complained of being tired during an interview with Live! with Kelly and Michael on Friday (25Mar16) and he revealed he stayed up all night to ensure he wouldn't miss his plane.

The actor then explained he had missed three flights within 10 days and had a scary experience when he was prevented from boarding a plane after testing positive for explosive material during a routine search.

"I flew in from Chicago and came straight here, like, fresh off the plane," he said. "It's crazy. I wrapped (filming TV show Supergirl) at, like, two o'clock and then I thought, 'I missed three flights in a week-and-a half. I never miss any flights.

"One, I was going through security and they swabbed my wallet and it got tested for explosives and I was like, 'What?' Then I had to go in the back room and I was like, 'I don't have explosives'.

"So (today) I was like, 'I'm not going to miss this flight, I'm just going to stay up because I have to get to the airport'," he explained.

"I was reading over my script and I looked at the clock and it was five o'clock and my flight was at 5.55. I'm like, 'Oh my God, I missed it'. I completely lost track of time and so I raced to the airport and I got there on time and then when I was getting out of the airport (in New York), I had 40 minutes to get here, so I was running through the airport."

He also had an awkward encounter with a fan as he was dashing to get to the show on time: "This kid starts running next to me and he says, 'Hey, you're Peter Facinelli', and I was like, 'No, I'm not, no I'm not'. I felt really bad. He's like, 'Yes you are', and I was like, 'OK, I'll take a picture, but I gotta go'."
