'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' bosses regret getting Katie Price to return to the show.
The glamour model - also known as Jordan - was paid a reported £350,000 to re-enter the Australian jungle as producers wanted to make it the best series ever, but the mother-of-three quit after just eight days.
Executives were left seething as most of their budget had been blown on Katie, meaning they couldn't pay the other celebrities huge sums and were forced to chop some of the shows Bushtucker Trials and the number of cameramen.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "The cost of getting Katie Price has caused a nightmare.
"A lot of money was spent on her and, as a result, cuts had to be made elsewhere. The producers genuinely thought having Jordan go back into the jungle after her split form Peter Andre would be a great coup. But it has blown up in their faces."
While Katie was given preferential treatment, other contestants have had to suffer cutbacks.
While stars are normally flown to Australia first-class, they were downgraded to business-class and were given lower standard rooms at the show's official hotel.
