THE WHO star Pete Townshend has spoken for the first time about the sexual abuse he claims he suffered as a child.
Townshend was cautioned by police in 2003 for accessing a child pornography website, but the guitarist claimed he was researching material for his autobiography, in which he intended to reveal the abuse he suffered between the ages of five and six-and-a-half.
Now in a new magazine interview the TOMMY star reveals details of his childhood trauma when he moved from home to stay with his grandmother.
He says, "I can't remember particularly clearly but I know it was very, very unpleasant. I got involved with weird s*** which involved some erotic and sexual stuff, that's all I know.
"Then I came back to my family and went to an unknown school where I experienced real difficulties of bullying and stuff like that."18/03/2004 17:06
