British rocker Pete Doherty regrets disclosing an alleged fling with Charlotte Gainsbourg because the French actress is no longer speaking to him.
The Babyshambles star hit headlines after telling Britain's NME magazine he enjoyed a brief love affair with Gainsbourg while they filmed their movie Confession of a Child of the Century.
He claimed the brunette beauty, daughter of famed musician Serge Gainsbourg and actress Jane Birkin, left her longtime partner Yvan Attal to be with him, but moved back to France after four days because she couldn't stand his lifestyle.
Now Doherty, who was kicked out of a Thai rehab clinic in July (12) after another failed attempt to beat his drug addictions, admits his comments were a mistake.
He is quoted by Britain's Daily Mail as saying, "I'd drunk too much rum and taken too much coke that day... I wish I'd never said it. Charlotte won't speak to me now."
