Troubled rocker Pete Doherty checked himself into a rehabilitation facility in Thailand last month (Oct14) to tackle his heroin addiction.

The Libertines frontman has undergone treatment on a number of occasions to battle his drug demons, and he admitted in June (14) that he was still desperate to get clean.

He is believed to have headed out to the Hope Rehab Center in Bangkok shortly after concluding a European tour with The Libertines on 05 October (14).

Bandmate Carl Barat tells NME magazine, "Pete's in a great place... We're in a great place staying together. I'm gonna keep popping out and seeing how it is going, show him a bit of support. He's grand, (rehab has) taken about 10 years off him. I have to pinch myself. These seem like great times."

A Hope Rehab Center spokesman adds, "Today he is a month into his recovery of a well-documented heroin addiction... Peter is not only a talented musician but a strong character who has a lot to offer - he has expressed a wish to use his influence to help other struggling addicts. Together with Hope he wants to start a trust funding treatment places."

Doherty has undergone rehab in Thailand on two previous occasions but relapsed both times. In 2012, he was thrown out of a clinic in Chiang Mai for disrupting other patients.

The Libertines reunited in June (14) after a four-year hiatus and are working on their first album since 2004.
