Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder is still scarred by the Roskilde Festival disaster in 2000 and begged fans to "take care" ahead of the band's festival performances in England this weekend (26-27AUG06). Nine fans of the grunge band were tragically crushed to death in the moshpit at the Danish event. Vedder has admitted he struggled to get back on stage after the tragedy - and he was cautious ahead of the band's headline gig at the Reading Festival on Sunday (27AUG06). Ahead of a two hour set, he also offered to stop performing if there were any security problems. He said, "Take care of each other please. I know you can do it... we can do it, take care of each other, please." He then stopped his Reading concert midway through so a stricken fan could be helped to safety.
