E.A sports seem to have taken a leaf out of Konami's {Pro Evolution Soccer} book by making the game play more realistic and being able to select the playing kit and the stadium that you play at. This year's version looks to let the player have slightly less automatic control of the ball, giving the gamer independence to handle FIFA 2003 with more precision and authority.

FIFA is leading the way with new features included in the game such as total ball control. This has a whole new dimension on the FIFA game play with the passing, shooting dribbling and crossing harder to master. Unlike previous FIFA games, players are unable to score from every angle and distance. Knowledge of the players is essential to be able to play the game to its full potential. FIFA 2003 features a brand new, updated roster of players and teams from the FIFA organization, as well as standard improvements in animations, character textures, and various new cut scenes and interfaces.

One of the best features of the game is the graphical detail. The players look increasingly more realistic than in the past. FIFA 2003 allows gamers to experience various competitions ranging from domestic leagues to the European cup. FIFA offers you total licensed football with over 175 licensed entities - 16 leagues, 450 teams, 10,000 players.

After playing FIFA 2003 anyone will confirm that it still has a very FIFA feel about it. The unfortunate problem with FIFA 2003 is that the gamer is unable to perfect their play in training sessions.

That said your first impression of FIFA 2003 will be the graphics, spotting your favourite players, and watching the excellent replays from all angles. FIFA is definitely a worthy and respectable purchase even in the shadow of Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 2, but it still has some way to go to match the mighty PES2.
