Veteran singer Paul Simon is to meet exiled Tibetan spiritual leader the
Dalai Lama tomorrow (26JAN04) - adding his name to a long list of celebrities
who have paid the legendary icon a visit.
The SIMON + GARFUNKEL star - who reunited with Art Garfunkel last year
(04) to embark on a world tour - is planning to stay near the Indian northern
hill station of Dharamsala, where the Dalai Lama is based, for two days.
Dharamsala has been frequented by high-profile personalities including
British royal Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York; and actors Pierce Brosnan,
Richard Gere, Steven Seagal and Goldie Hawn.
The Dalai Lama and his followers fled Tibet after a failed uprising
against Chinese rule and set up base in Dharamsala in 1959.
