The estate of late movie legend Paul Newman will sell off his beloved race cars to the highest bidder, as per the instructions left in his will.
The Oscar winner lost his battle with cancer in September (08) and details of his will were made public this week (begs17Nov08).
The documents reveal Newman left all his assets to his wife, actress Joanne Woodward, with his movie accolades, including three Academy Awards, going to his Newman's Own Foundation.
The Hollywood icon's shares in food company Newman's Own and Salad King were also left to the foundation, keeping his word that all profits and royalties would benefit the charity.
In addition to his food empire, the Cool Hand Luke star was a keen racer who started Newman Haas Racing and still holds the record for being the oldest driver to win a professionally sanctioned race. He owned a number of race cars and they will be auctioned off along with his airplane, with profits going to his estate, reports radaronline.com.
The will, signed off on 11 April (08), was filed in Connecticut.
