Patsy Kensit has revealed the kind of preparation she put in for her new role in BBC1's Holby City.
Speaking on the channel's Friday Night with Jonathan Ross show, Kensit discussed the research she did in hospitals, including watching open heart surgery.
"I wanted to throw up. First of all I stood in the corner but in the end I couldn't get close enough ... nurses are incredible women," Kensit said.
"They're doing this job for next to nothing and do it with such love and care... I couldn't do it, I'd get too emotionally involved, I don't think I could cope."
Jonathan Ross was also 'subjected' to an impromptu medical examination by the sexy star, who laid Ross on his desk and stood over him.
Kensit, who is approaching her 40th birthday, also discussed why she was glad to now be concentrating on TV.
"Making films isn't for me any more because I'm an old girl in that world ... I've been very lucky, this is something I grew up doing, in television there's so much satisfaction ... I'll stay as long as they want me, I feel like I've come back home."
