Actor Patrick Dempsey is set to be honoured for his cancer research awareness work in his native Maine this weekend (15-16Nov14).

The Grey's Anatomy star was inspired to open the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston six years ago when his mother was suffering from ovarian cancer. She lost her battle with the disease in March (14) at the age of 79.
