Patricia Arquette is following up her Oscars night success by playing a real-life bankrobber's former lover.

The Academy Awards' Best Supporting Actress has been cast as one of Jim Sturgess' former conquests in Electric Slide.

In the film, Sturgess plays cocky Melrose Avenue antiques dealer-turned-bankrobber Eddie Dodson.

Dodson drove to the banks in a black 1963 Ford Galaxy, dressed up like an elegant criminal and made mix tapes to listen to on his getaways. In only nine months in the early 1980s, he robbed 64 banks - more than anyone has robbed before or since.

Arquette joins a cast that includes Isabel Lucas, Chloe Sevigny and French star Christopher Lambert.
