New Timo Maas Single To Get Down

Synopsis:
The world’s coolest decknician Timo Maas releases his new single To Get Down this Monday, February 11.

The funk-fuelled track has already been declared ‘Essential New Tune’ by Pete Tong, and was the signature tune to the German Dance Awards in December.

To Get Down features the devastatingly addictive guitar riff and vocals of Phil Barnes.

Timo says: “We’d listened to around twenty demos trying to try to get the sound we wanted for the vocals,” sighs Timo.

"We’d had three guys in who all sang in this horrible rock way which wasn’t what we wanted. Then, we bumped into this guy Phil on the stairs at Time Tools, got talking, and invited him into the studio.

"He came up with the lyrics in about five minutes. This just seemed the right single for us to come back with.”

Timo’s debut album Loud, featuring high profile collaborations with Kelis and Finlay Quaye, is scheduled for release on March 4.

Remixes for Madonna (Don’t Tell Me), Placebo (Special K), Kelis (Young, Fresh & New) and Fatboy Slim (Star 69) have undoubtedly brought Timo to the attention of the mainstream audience, but it was his phenomenal re-working of Azzido Da Bass’s Top 10 smash Doom’s Night that originally captured music fans’ imagination back in 1999.

His year 2000 compilation Music For The Maases sold 60,000 units and won coveted Album Of the Year status in both Ministry and Mixmag.

Last year’s Perfecto Presents Timo Maas Connected compilation shifted a further 50,000 units. The Maasterplan continues this year.
