This band has everything going for it at the moment, touring slots with The Kings of Leon, Jet, The Datsuns, and The Vines, and a Producer who has worked on the seminal Guns N’ Roses album Appetite For Destruction. But the question on everyone’s lips is do they have the songs as well as the sure fire Swagger to make it.
On first listen they came across like a rawer and a more guitar driven Stereophonics, add this with the hip shaking confidence of Velvet Revolvers frontman Scott Weiland and you’re nearly there. In fact when I heard vocalist Paul Gautrey I even thought of the understated vocal talent that was Ugly Kid Joe singer Whitfield Crane. Most
lyrics are of old school influence namely sex, drugs and rock and roll. Guitar riffs are as frequent and as powerful as a bulldozer operator on speed. You can just tell this release is important. I am not usually that partial to this type of Rock, yet this, on further listens it is rather Raucous. It has all the confidence and relevance of late 80’s early 90’s Rock especially when you find out these guy are from Leeds, UK. LA styles no problem. Current single ‘You Got Nothing on Me’ is a real blinder, you just know that it’s going to be even better when you hear them live, so look out for them on the circuit.
If you like Raw Rock N’ Roll you will find this essential, if you prefer music that’s more on a personal level this may not be for you. However with current trend veering towards the influx of 80’s electro retro pop, this sounds fresh as a daisy. Lovely Stuff,
