Cat fighting with The Kills for the crown of feisty and lurid blues rockers is no contest for your average modern music connoisseur to witness, so many may go and hide behind the new Embrace album. touch. The pungent lyrics are delivered provocatively and with zest by Moss, as she pushes home the message of emotional integrity and the virtue of it;

“If you want it, oh, you could have it, but you have to be honest now
about where you’re feeling from. Well, you say, say, say whatever comes
and it rings so true much later on.”

B-side 'Now Be Still' has a really big The Kills feeling about it, but there is also a hint of subtlety to Moss and co that is borne out in the use of hushing maracas. The Duke Spirit have supported the likes of the 22-20s and are now booked to appear with the tranquil tantalizers; Mercury Rev in March. With their passion and intensity they are indubitably wooing a wide range of audience.
