The berserk Berkshire band attempt to take off and win more fans with another single from their more mainstream second album ‘Kick Up The Fire, And Let The Flames Break Loose’. Bassist Didz Hammond is on record as explaining that the reason for the video to this song being shot in a strip joint, was to get away from boring shots of the band playing their instruments, boy, what an original alternative eh?

The Cooper Temple Clause - Blind Pilots (Morning Records) 10/11/03. Single Review

There is the customary slow, melodic build up, which epitomised some of TCTC’s previous offerings, although this is a lot tamer with Ben Gautrey’s Liam Gallagher meets Kelly Jones vocal style kicks in right from the start. The tune builds up and so does the anger in Ben’s voice ( almost turning into a shriek )and the lyrics:

“You came along to change the grade,
to raise the bar and lay the blame.”

This is a song that will thrill existing Cooper’s aficionados to bits, but whether it will win many new fans and raise them to playing above 1000+ capacity venues, is doubtful.
