Stereophonics release Moviestar on 9th February 2004. Written by Kelly Jones, and co-produced by Jones and Jim Lowe in London in September 2003, the band debuted ‘Moviestar’ on their European tour in November.

Since finishing the recording of ‘You Gotta Go There To Come Back’, Kelly Jones kept writing songs, and spent much of the Summer maintaining this creative bent, working through new ideas with Lowe. Upon hearing the song in demo form, all parties felt that the stridently different ‘Moviestar’ was too fantastic a statement to hold on to for the band’s fifth album, and so it has been recorded and will be released in early 2004.

Stereophonics are touring throughout the Winter into 2004 – recently they played key ‘radio concerts’ in the US where the massive UK hit ‘Maybe Tomorrow’ repeated its UK success. The song, a UK top three hit single in Summer 2003 was the only British record on the Top Ten R&R Triple AAA chart.

Stereophonics returned to the UK for two sold out dates at Earls Court in London (December 16th and 17th), and the band’s final show of 2003 at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on 20th December. The band are currently preparing to tour the US once more in February and March, before returning to Europe for another run of gigs.

A demo version of 'MOVIESTAR' is available to download for just 1.00 from an area on the band's site called 'The Place',
